Italian Sausage with Bell Peppers and Onions:
Place the sausage in a large skillet with a little olive oil over medium heat and brown on all sides until sausage has a golden crust and is about half-cooked (about 10-minutes). Remove from skillet.
Add a little more olive oil if necessary and stir in the onions and bell peppers. Place the sausage back in the skillet and stir fry until the sausage is done and bell peppers are tender. It's ok to cover the skillet while cooking if you wish. For an extra treat, make a sandwich!
Try not to pierce the skin of the sausage while grilling; flip with tongs. (Tastes best when cooking in its own juices)
Stove top or in the oven:
Place Italian sausage in a skillet or pan with a thin layer of water so as not to burn or stick the sausage. Cook about 10 - 15 minutes over medium heat and flip once after a brown crust is achieved. Cook unti done (about 10-minutes) and try not to pierce the sausage while it is cooking so as to retain the juices. As always, try not to over-cook.
Italian Sausage in Red Sauce (sugo):
Use 50/50 ground meat with Italian sausage to make meatballs.
You can also slow cook the whole Italian sausage in the red sugo (sauce)...delizioso!!!
